Redpath's Aircool centrifugal evaporative
fan cooling system is ideal for use in greenhouses, livestock sheds and
many other applications.
Aircool does not require the use of complicated
high pressure pumps/lines, mist nozzles or compressors.
Redpath's Aircool fan uses a unique high-speed
water disc centrifuge that atomises water at mains pressure (1-6 bar) into
a super-fine spray. It does not suffer, therefore, from the typical
clogging of nozzles or have the high maintenance of other systems.
The water disc atomising centrifuge operates at
a very high rpm using it's own separate motor drive. It is located
in line with the fans exhaust outlet, which efficiently disperses a body
of cooling water vapour.
Redpath's Aircool fan unit can be expected to reduce
internal air temperatures by 4-8 degrees* and in some cases will reduce
air temperatures below that of outside air.
*Aircool produces a droplet size ranging from 10-25
microns, dependent on the set flow rate. The evaporation rate and
achieved performance is symbiotic to the environments' relative humidity
and droplet size produced by the Aircool. Aircool is not designed
for chemical application.

Control System
Depending on the user's needs, the
installed AirCool can be controlled either as a whole or separately.
Spraying and ventilating can be
operated separately, and by setting the installed timer for spaying times
and durations, the unit can operate independently.

1. Compared with natural
air ventilation and forced ventilation systems, AirCool is proven to be
more efficient at bringing down the air temperature; it cooled the temperature
more than 3.5¡ÆC. It also maintained the temperature more or
less the same both inside and outside of the greenhouse, and in particular
around the noon when the temperature tends to be the hottest of the day,
it was able to keep the greenhouse 1.6-2.6¡ÆC cooler than the
outside temperature.
2. The cooling effect of AirCool
was maximized when the windows of the green house were kept open between
12:30 - 14:30 in the afternoon before closing again in the afternoon.
3. Relative humidity inside the
greenhouse is very low between April and June. However, when AirCool was
used, we were able to keep the humidity level between 50~80%, which is
optimal for plant growth.
4. When AirCool was used to lower
the indoor temperature of a carnation-growing greenhouse, it was confirmed
that there was visible improvement in the growth of the carnations. Production
of the best quality products improved by over 30%, and quality also showed
a 181-219% improvement.
