Greenhouse environmental and irrigation controller
manufacturer, Redpath, have recently developed an upgraded series of software
ready for the new millennium. Redpath say that the range offers substantial
improvements in user friendliness, upgradeable capacity and long-term reliability.
There are five individual controllers currently
manufactured, from the base model ‘Activa’, up to the fully specified ‘Optima’.
Greenhouse conditions can be accurately monitored with up to 28 inputs
from the monitoring sensors. These include:
Internal Temperature
Humidity and VPD control
Misting and or Fogging requirements
Heating
Solar Sensing
Ventilation control in both Leeward and Windward
direction
Boller control
Ventilation Override shutdown for high wind
Ventilation Override shutdown for rain
Optional on most models is an alarm function for
‘out of specification’ setting or equipment failure.
All of the above greenhouse crop/environment parameters
can be monitored, recorded and graphed individually in a number of independent
structures and can be linked to the system's inbuilt computer connection
facility to provide the grower an invaluable data base for crop requirement
projections and expected running costs.
This system can offer huge labour savings and
is a constant and precise monitoring tool.
A major feature of the new printed board is its’
ability to be purchased with only base options, with extra monitoring features
available as add-ons as expansion requires or cash flow allows.
Redpath customers say “We have found the Redpath
Environmental Controllers to be a very effective and reliable unit that
offers us a user-friendly yet sophisticated package which improves both
my productivity and reduces my running costs”
