The autowinder rollup wall kit is a simple
and efficient method for controlling rollup walls according to environmental
temperature. The system consists of the controller, temperature sensor,
and up to two rollup wall motors (24V dc) with mounting kits.
The control unit should be mounted in an area where
it will not be exposed to moisture or excessive heat (avoid positions where
the unit would be in direct sunlight). The control unit requires
a 230 V ac power supply and should be fitted by a qualified electrician.
The output voltage to the rollup wall motor units is 24V dc a short piece
of cable complete with connector for plugging into the control unit is
provided. The wind and rain sensor options are not at present available
for this system.
The temperature sensor should be mounted in a shaded,
well-ventilated area of the greenhouse to ensure a correct reading of the
greenhouse temperature.
Setting the Limit Switches
The vent motor is a 24V dc reversing motor with
built in limit switches (see attached photo on page). It is easier if the
motor is wired in and manually run until the down limit switch trips out
before attaching the motor to the rollup wall drive pipe as this means
the\at only the up limit switch will need setting. The rollup should
be positioned to stop about 10mm above the midrail to allow for overrun.
Each tooth of the limit switch cog relates to about 130mm of vent travel.
When looking through the back cover at the limit
switches you will see a black coloured diamond shape (this is normally
the down limit depending on which way the motor has been wired into the
control unit) and the red coloured diamond shape is the open (Up) limit
switch (depending on which way the motor has been wired into the control
unit.)
The down limit switch is set by pushing in the
blue limit switch stem and rotating it around to the desired position (note
it is easier to start with the down limit switch in the tripped out position
before the motor is attached to the rollup so that only the upper limit
requires setting.) Remember this is best set prior to attaching the
motor to the rollup wall pipe. Ensure there is a gap of 10 – 20mm
between the rollup and the mid rail to allow for overrun in the motor preventing
damage to the rollup or motor drive.
The open (up) limit switch is set by pulling the
white adjusting stem outwards and rotating to adjust the amount of opening.
With the rollup in the closed position switch the controller to manual
operation and the control mode to open then turn the rollup motor on.
Run the motor until the rollup is just below the desired maximum rollup
vent opening and turn the motor off. Adjust the open limit switch
so that it clicks off, then turn the vent motor to the close position and
drive the vent a short distance downwards then switch the motor back to
the open position and check that the rollup vent stops in correct maximum
opening position (repeat the adjustment procedure until the desired setting
is achieved, remember that each tooth on the adjustment cog gives about
130mm of vent travel.)
Note: the information on the front
panel of the Autowinder controller has some printing errors.
The two main errors are as follows:
Setting Temp Step: Step 4
- the diagram of the Up arrow is facing the wrong way it should point upwards
not downwards.
Setting Temp Step: Step 5
– the word Up should read Down
