REDPATH ARCH
HOUSES:
A GENERAL OVERVIEW
The Arch Building Series is based on the traditional
“hoop” or tunnel buildings. These buildings are versatile and economic
covers for low growing crops and for animal shelters that require minimal
environmental control, or for extension of the crop growing season, or
for simply protection from the rain. The Arch Series includes the Planter
series, Ecoshelter, Crop Cover, Rain Cover and Vented Arch buildings.
The Arch House Series have the following features:
-
Backed by the Redpath reputation for superior structural
design and backup service.
-
Pole heights of 2m (6’6”), 2.5m(8’4”), 3m(9’10”),
or 3.5m(11’6”) on most models.
-
Particularly suited to side ventilation and fan ventilation
to enhance airflow over the crop.
-
Planter series – these buildings are the economy series
with a 10 year design specification and a lower 2m(6’6”) pole height only.
-
The Vented Arch buildings can have a single gutter
vent to maximize the ventilation of the structure. Designed for light crop
loading of up to 10kg/m2. Building span 7.5m(24’7”) wide, suited for 4-5
growing beds. Optional automation of gutter vents to improve environmental
control.
-
Roofs can use twin layer or single layer Duratough
film cladding to assist with heat retention.
-
The Ecoshelter can span up to 10.6m(34’9”) (note:
the wider spans are not designed to take direct crop loading).
-
Thicker structural steel wall options available for
areas where weather or crop conditions may demand a stronger structure.
-
Large accessible gutters.
-
Economical to construct.
-
Superior strength from using rectangular steel to
form the arch compared to arches constructed of pipe.
-
Available with ends suitable for tractor access –
making cultivation, cleaning, and planting easy.
-
Shade or thermal screen options available.
Available in 7.5m(24’7”), 9.1m(29’10”), and
10.6m(34”9”) widths. Length of structures is in 3m (9’11”) increments.
