Poles are anchored in fully concreted
foundation and include anti-lift rods.
Foundation design is critical for the reliable
long term performance of the building. Foundations are required to
resist various loads including those from the crop, wind & snow load.
Redpath foundations & footings are anchored deep (1.2m - 4') into the
ground & have a diameter of up to 400mm (16") dependant on surrounding
ground conditions. Redpath can usually recommend alternative footing designs
for site specific conditions such as sand or loose peat which usually require
a differing design from standard. All footings include anti-pullout
rods to resist uplift loads & for positive securing of the concrete
to the post. Another standard feature of our footing design is the
inclusion of a heavy duty anti-corrosion treatment for protection from
ground contact.
All posts & footings feature a “hot dipped”
galvanized marine type finish which is then additionally coated with a
water resistant chlorinated rubber protective paint. Both of these
coatings give a superior guarantee of corrosion resistance & long trouble
free life even in the harshest conditions of spray use & saltwater
exposure.
