Super Single cosecant curved rafter naturally
improves condensation run off and increases light transmission.
Redpath's exclusive use of our registered design
curved rafter "A" frame portal for the Super Single design offers
growers a superior edge for their greenhouse crop production. A curved
rafter truss or “cosecant rafter” design is extremely well suited for use
as a greenhouse roof truss. It offers superior environmental control
performance & gives fundamental cropping advantages to lift production
for the grower when compared to any other overhead truss design.
A curved rafter portal with its variable pitch
will naturally drain internal condensation speedily to the edge of the
roof line & thus prevent condensation water from dripping onto the
crop whilst also significantly increasing light transmission to the crop.
There is a 50% decrease in Driplines.
A curved rafter concept also offers up to 30% reduction
in shading from solid overhead frame members, whilst at the same
time crop support load strength is boosted by over 10% compared to
a traditional straight rafter web truss design.
This dramatic improvement in condensation control
reduces substantially the incidence & spread of crop diseases.
Whilst the overall light transmission gains lifts crop production throughout
the year there is a particular high gain during duller winter months.
The Redpath aluminium gutter lockstrip is fastened
along the side faces of all internal gutters & is positioned to catch
the run off of condensation from the roof sheets & direct it outside
of the greenhouse. By stopping the recycling process within the structure
of it's own condensation a large gain in humidity control is achieved.
