Twinskin side and end wall cladding for extra
insulation is an option on the Super Single SVR design.
Whilst the Super Single design includes a complete
singleskin cladding to its entire roof & ventilator areas, we often
supply the structure with the side & end walls clad with energy efficient
twinskin (double layer). The exterior walls of a greenhouse
can expose crops to a lower temperatures compared to the main body of the
building. By twinskinning the walls of the structure the Super Single
designs eliminates these area specific environmental differences maintaining
a consistent temperature throughout the floor area.
Light transmission through the side walls is less
critical, however the large surface area of the sidewalls on a greenhouse
does effect dramatically the cooling of the structure.
Using “twinskin” on the side & end walls of
the building also improves the stability of the Duratough film cladding
against wind load. The air pressure between the two layers of film
places the film under tension & prevents it from “flapping” on the
structure.
