Extra heavy duty 200 micron (8 ml) Duratough
singleskin E.V.A. greenhouse film is used on the Ultraspan. This
film has a 4 year pro rata factory backed U.V. warranty.
Redpath’s Ultraspan greenhouse design uses the
latest development in greenhouse film technology from around the world.
The Redpath company exclusively uses the Duratough brand of greenhouse
film cladding as it ensures our customers of high light transmission &
very long service life. Duratough is constructed from a tough Ethyl
Vinyl Acetate co-polymer. “EVA” films offer excellent thermal energy retention
for night-time efficiency plus provide high transparency & clarity
to the crop during the day.
Redpath Duratough contains a quality UV stabilization
package & comes with a factory backed pro-rata warranty of up to 4
years. Expected & usual life is up to 7 years.
Duratough is manufactured using co-extrusion technology
with three specificly engineered layers of film being extruded together.
The outer layers are heavily UV stabilised for extra resistance to the
suns harmfull rays, the center layer contains a high tear resistant polymer
for strength against high wind laods & the inner crop facing layer
features anti condensate additives for reduced condensation drip
within the structure. Duratough is usually fastened to the structure
using Lockstrip or Duralock 2 film holding system whilst Polyguard greenhouse
frame lagging or “Hotspot” tape is used on the greenhouse frame for both
abrasion & heat protection.
