Redpath's Vented Arch design offers a highly efficient
clear span portal of 7.5 metres (24'7") wide. The span is based on modern
growing practices of planting 5 x 1 metre (3'3") wide growing beds (or
4 x 1.2 metre - 4' wide) with a 400mm (16") walkway. Efficient use
of floor space can be of great importance to maximize production area and
the Vented Arch's span gives excellent use of space.
The portal arch roof truss is manufactured from
a RHS (rectangular hollow section), which is roll formed into the arch
profile. It gives great strength & allows for unhindered movement of
vehicles within the greenhouse of larger tractors & vehicles. The clear
span portal also promotes a clean growing environment as it offers no perching
or collection points for pests & dust or dirt.
